Druze

Druze Quartz is a name given to the extremely fine crystals that appear on a quartz specimen. These crystals are very small and numerous. Druze is found on the interior of quartz geodes. Ground water carrying dissolved silica is forced into a porous area of rock and rapid cooling occurs. This causes the formation of tiny crystals on the surfaces or in cavities of the rock. Sometimes this occurs on previously deposited minerals. Some common minerals containing druze are malachite, hematite, carnelian, cobalto calcite, ocean jasper and chrysocolla.
