Kyanite
Kyanite is a beautiful deep blue aluminum silicate mineral with an unusual hardness quality. If cut across its flat, bladelike crystals the hardness is 6, along the axes it is 4.5. Kyanite is named from the Greek kyanos, or ‘dark blue’, however it occurs in black and green as well. It has a splintery, uneven and fibrous feel to it but can also be polished and even faceted into stunning translucent pieces! It is found in Brazil, Switzerland, and even western North Carolina! It is used in spark plugs and porcelain.
Kyanite is good for connecting with nature, dispelling negativity and personal growth.
