Moonstone

Moonstone is a feldspar mineral, a potassium aluminum silicate with a hardness of 6. Moonstone is an n opalescent variety of orthoclase feldspar which has a blue or white sheen known as” schiller”. The sheen is a result of the interlaying of the orthoclase with another feldspar mineral, albite. These minerals then develop by internal chemical separation during the process of crystallization. Thinner layers yield a blue sheen while thick layers produce a white sheen. Moonstone has long been sacred in India where it was said that if two lovers placed it in their mouths during the full moon, their futures would be revealed.

Mystery, self-discovery, insight, the goddess.
