The 5 Basic Steps of Holistic Healing

A lot about holistic healing is somewhat organic and non-linear, but there is a coherent, logical order in the progression of tasks in just about every holistic healing process.

I like to use the analogy of a home with multiple rooms when describing energy healing.  Let’s just say you live in a gigantic mansion, much of which is unexplored and perhaps unknown to you, eh?  Let’s also say that every “issue” you have to heal has a hypothetical space within the home.  Again, this is an analogy, but I dig analogies.  They are helpful when you are integrating new information.

Step 1 – Recognize
Before you go about fixing something, you need to know what is wrong.  Recognizing means identifying the places in which you need assistance, where there might be blockages, lack of flow, or distress within the system.   “Scanning” is the technique of checking the system for places which seem off compared to other places.  You can do this with your hands, with a pendulum, and other tools.  You can also interact with the Divine and your spiritual helpers to give you some insight.

“Recognize” Analogy Reference: Hey, there is this room I just discovered in my house that I didn’t know was there.  I think it might have been a music room originally.  It is stacked to the ceiling with decaying boxes, is infested with insects, and has slime mold. Yuck.

Step 2 – Remove
Much of what is amiss in our systems is the accumulation of energetic congestion.  This congestion creates blockages or lack of flow through the system.  The process of cleansing, clearing, and purification of the system becomes one of the most critical elements in the healing progression.  More esoteric concepts of things that need to be removed from the system include: perceptual distortions, soul shrapnel, energetic parasites, implants, and maladaptive “cords” or connections to others.  Since the nature of those things are somewhat over our heads at this level, I often simply give the energy command to, “Remove anything not present in my Highest Good” (aka: take out what ain’t supposed to be there) and allow that intention to include things known and things unknown to me. There are protocols for “decording” that are easy enough.  I use what I call “Door Work”.

“Remove” Analogy Reference:  I’ve got to sort the boxes in this room into what might be worth examining, what just needs tossing, and then completely clean this room up!

Step 3 – Repair
Once things have been removed from your system that are not in your Highest Good, then it is time to repair any systems that have been damaged.  I define this as the correcting of any departure in your system from your pure primal “template”, or you at a perfect state of wellness on all levels.  Think of it like going back to your original “blueprints” and fixing whatever is wrong structurally.

“Repair” Analogy Reference: Here are the blueprints to my house and this room is needs new drywall, a new floor, a window replacement, and a new coat of paint.

Step 4 – Reintegrate
Once something has been repaired and corrected, then it needs to be brought back into alignment with the rest of the system.  It needs to be integrated, processed, and brought back into active functioning.  Using the energy body model, the chakras need to be balanced and aligned, not just as independent energy centers, but with each other.  Reintegration is about bringing back flow and wholeness from many parts that may be been functioning out of synch with one another.

Reintegrate Analogy Reference:  I’m decorating this room, getting the right furniture, musical instruments, and then bringing this room back to life in the house so it can be used in the manner intended.

Step 5 – Reseal
Sealing energy work is a critical step as it is the intention that all the work that has been accomplished maintains its integrity in perpetuity.  It also is the process of enhancing the strength of the system and making sure that it is protected, safe, and that whatever issues created the problems in the first place are no longer able to influence the system into imbalance.  I use the energy command statement, “I request to Bless, Optimize, Stabilize, Amplify, and Seal this work under God.” It is also where I would install systemic protection and active guardians, such as with the Guardian Angel Shield work.

“Reseal” Analogy Reference: I’m locking the door so that only those with whom I want to share this sacred space are invited!

 Optional Step 6: Roll Outward
You, as an agent of free will and  member of humanity, are a part of greater systems.  Your personal healing work is also system healing work because you do not exist in a vacuum.  There are some systems in which you may have greater impact, such as connections of love (friends) or blood (family).  I call this the “network of connectivity”.  Engaging healing work for yourself changes the system, even if a little, and may assist others within the system to improve or gain awareness in one way or another.  Think of it like you have made your own light a little brighter by doing healing work.  When you are a little brighter, the system gets a wee bit brighter.   Make sense?  As you lighten your load, the collective load also becomes lighter.  I like doing this part with awareness and intention.

To intentionally “roll out” the work to the larger system, you can simply say, “I request to roll this work out to my Network of Connectivity in whatever way serves the Highest Good and is within Divine Will, now please.”
